Google has acquired SocialDeck, a startup that created several successful mobile games that allow cross platform multiplayer functionality over BlackBerry, iOS, Facebook and Android.
The sum of the acquisition has not been disclosed as well as the purpose for it. It does seem likely that Google wants to offer a competitive service to Appleās Game Center and the fact that it would be cross platform could give Google the upper hand.
