June 20th, 2007 by Anonymous Blogger Posted in Companies & M&A | No Comments »

GluGlu has made new moves in regards to their global expansion by opening up local offices in the peoples republic of China, Italy and Spain.

From the three offices, the new Beijing office is probably the most interesting of all for Glu. Glu has started selling mobile games in China since 2005 and hopes to increase it’s footprint with the new office.

“It has always been our philosophy that our success as a global publisher depends on addressing and serving the needs of regional markets. Establishing a local presence in these key regions is critical to our strategy as it will allow us to deepen relationships within each market,” said Greg Ballard, president and CEO, Glu Mobile. “In addition, we see tremendous opportunity in China, and establishing Glu’s third development studio in Beijing will allow us to strengthen our internal development and porting capabilities and create content for both the western and Asian markets.”

The Beijing office will be headed by Kim Daniel Arthur, Glu’s former head of their London studio where he worked on titles like Ancient Empires and Brain Genius. The total number of Glu offices around the globe has now reached nine.
