GetJar is celebrating as the company has served up it's 500 millionth download this month. Together with this news, the company has also taken the opportunity to introduce their new logo.
GetJar shared some interesting details about the usage of their platform. It seems currently only 20-30% of their downloads are generated by smartphones. This while smartphone owners are known as early adaptors. The number of smartphone downloads are lower in emerging markets.
50% of their users say they download at least once a week. Also, flash content seem to increase in popularity. Some Flash apps are generating 20K downloads a week.
