Nintendo’s president Satoru Iwata announced two interesting things during his speech at the GDC. The first was that 3D Super Mario is in development, the second was all about the first firmware upgrade in May.
In May, Nintendo will be adding the eShop to the 3DS system. The eShop will be Nintendo’s App Store and will be offering original DSiWare games as well as virtual console titles from the Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Gear and TurboGrafix-16 consoles. Furthermore consumers will be able to download a web browser and other apps as well as transfer purchases from their old DSi(XL) to their new 3DS systems.
Iwata also said that Nintendo will provide developers with all the tools they need to get going on 3D development.
