Gamevil Launched Net Mission event in Path of a Warrior

June 7th, 2008 by Arjan Olsder Posted in New Releases | No Comments »

GamevilTo celebrate the success of their mobile RPG game Path of a Warrior, Gamevil USA has now launched Net Mission. Net Mission ads a new world for players to enjoy.

Being one of the largest scale mobile RPG released to date, Path of a Warrior also differentiates itself by having a separate network client which enables the end users to go online and compete with other players. GAMEVIL USA has already enjoyed its success through this one of a kind game, having more than 10,000 registered multiplayer users and more than a 1,000 network sessions played daily only in the US.

GAMEVIL USA has implemented a server side technology to notify the end users whenever there is a new patch or mission given just like online PC games. Using this functionality, GAMEVIL USA is preparing events that are notified through the server that mobile users in the US have never seen before. The Net Mission event will last for roughly 2 months, in which time users are required to complete 8 different missions – each one with a significant in-game reward. The missions’ difficulty will vary from some being quick and simple, such as sending the Game Manager a short email or SMS, to long and complex, such as raising your character’s stats up to a certain level. Gold and various items that increase character’s stats will be given as rewards upon completing each mission. The main purpose of this event is to encourage and motivate lower level players to be more actively involved in the game. Yet again, each mission has been carefully selected and composed so that even the addicted, loyal, high level users have something to look forward to.

GAMEVIL USA’s motivation is to give something in return for their loyal Path of a Warrior players, to encourage more game time for beginners at lower levels, and most of all, to add extra value to the game itself. GAMEVIL believes that managing a community will be an important success factor to provide higher overall user loyalty in the future.

“We have been surprised by how immersed and loyal the users are to Path of a Warrior, already seeing dozens of players over level 100. You have to play the game more than a month to reach this level.” said Kyu Lee, President of GAMEVIL USA, Inc. “Net Missions are something very common on MMOPRG PC games, but a new experiment for mobile games. The mobile device is a connected device in nature and there is no reason why this shouldn’t exist on mobile. In the future, the concept of mobile games will change more and more as a service, providing continuous events and patches to the customer, rather than being a simple product that you forget about after you launch the game. People will continuously keep coming back to the game due to new features like Net Missions provided through the system”
