When it comes to revenues, it’s no secret that Google’s Android market is performing far from what analysts had imagines when the platform launched. For Gameloft, this is a reason to cut down investments in the platform.
Gameloft explained their move in an investment conference covered by Reuters. According to the developer/publisher, iPhone generates 400 times more paid downloads then Android does.
finance director Alexandre de Rochefort explained nobody in the industry is making significant revenues: "We have significantly cut our investment in Android platform, just like … many others."
Another rumor going around the industry is that Gameloft might quit Java development all together. This would mean they will only focus on iPhone, DSi and other downloadable platforms. The first time this rumors has been put on the net is at Project Next where a user from Pakistan outed the rumor.
