Foxconn has opened up a second factory to produce iPads for Apple. The first factory (in Shenzhen) was able to produce 2.5 million units a month. This means Foxconn will be outputting around 7.5 million units in Q4 through this facility.
In the whole of 2010, Foxconn has produced 15 million iPads in Shenzhen. Earlier this month however, Foxconn opened a second facility for the production of iPads in Chengdu which potentially increases the output for 2011 to 40 million units.
