Japanese Mobile Gamers seem to experience a whole new exclusive type of mobile game marketing from DoCoMo, as their awards are delivered to their doors for real!
The mobile game is called Ippon Zuri, which means as much as pole and line fishing. The mobile game is only available to consumers in Japan’s Fukuoka region, but that probably has to do with the delivery of the prizes.
Everytime a player manages to pull a fish out of the water, a slotmachine appears. If the player then manages to get the right combination, the virtual fish will be turned into a real one. In that case, the type of fish that is caught is bought on the local market and will be delivered to the door of the player.
Incentives like these are not new. Good examples are Pizzahut vouchers for example which become available in a mobile game. The delivery of real and raw goods however is really an all new experience.
