September 24th, 2010 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Platforms: Webinos | 4 Comments »

The European Union has announced to be investing € 10 million in a new universal app platform. The platform should solve all fragmentation issues mobile developers are struggling with. Project Utopia?

The app platform will be called Webinos and is supported by companies like W3C, Samsung and SonyEricsson. Next to mobile phones, the platform should also be supported in cars, TV’s, desktops and other entertainment machines. The platform will be consisting of a big number of API’s that need to be supported by the browser of a device.
