ESA is well aware of mobile. Having planned a ratings system for mobile games before (which didn't take off as expected), the organisation now wants ratings on the App Store.
Currently there is no real rating of iPhone content. The only thing we are sure about is that the App Store doesn't hold any real adult content at the moment.
According to an article over at Kotaku, the Entertainment Software Association is highly interested in introducing their rating system to the platform.
"We've been down this road before, the Entertainment Software industry, we know how this goes and it's wise for (Apple) to make steps in that direction so that this is addressed up front and there is an environment that is hospitable to children and families," Michael Gallagher, CEO of the Entertainment Software Association, told a group of reporters last week. "It would be wise to do that, we would welcome the opportunity to work with them, we are reaching out to encourage that."
Congratulations
