Eidos Mobile Shutting Down!?

June 26th, 2008 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Companies & M&A | 3 Comments »

Eidosinteractive
Strong industry romours from several sources say lots of Eidos Mobile staf will start looking for a job starting tomorrow. Is Eidos giving up on mobile!?

In any way, it clearly shows that the publisher and developer entered the market. Even the acquisitions of development houses like Rockpool couldn’t help the company to get a strong footprint in the market. So what will happen now? It seems one or two people will stay behind meaning the company will probably start licensing out their brands to others, or simply hooking up with others like Glu.

    1. Rumors says:

Rumor is they will be selecting a single global publishing partner. Glu, Hands On or THQ would be the most likely suspects.

    2. Just a thought... says:

Doesn’t sound like it’s been a great few weeks in mobile for Ian (the Legend) Livingstone… what with being a Non Exec with Telco (shudder) and now this

what a surprise!!! the whol eindustry inclusive of the likes of Gameloft are in trouble. Walled gardens together with bad game play have finally caught up with publishers and carriers. There will be many companies including some big names that will go bust within th enext year or two. Watch the top three I predict atleast one will go down. Gameloft selling studios in india and firin gpeople all over france at the moment make your own conclusions why!!!
