We announced it already last Friday but today it became official, Eidos acquired Morpheme Wireless Ltd in order to expand and strengthen their mobile division.
With the recent acquisitions, Eidos is clearly sets out its mobile strategy for development. One thing Eidos still doesn’t have though is good distribution which means we can expect Eidos to also acquire a mobile publisher.
With the acquisition, Eidos grows 8 more employees, a number of (award winning) mobile games and good quality of development knowledge.
"We’ve worked with Morpheme on a number of successful games already, so we know how well we work together," said Simon Protheroe, New Media and IT Director at Eidos. "It’s great to have Matt and his team on board in a deal which fully complements our existing development resources."?
"This is a really exciting opportunity for both Morpheme and
Eidos,"? said Matt Spall, CEO Morpheme Wireless Limited. "It will
allow us the opportunity to take our experience, talent and creativity
and elevate it to the next level and to a much wider consumer
audience."
