Eidos Announces Jupiter Lander

May 6th, 2008 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Game Announcements | No Comments »

EidosinteractiveEidos Mobile has taken a dive into computer history and managed to dig up one of the coolest C64 licenses we can remember. Yes, Jupiter Lander has been converted into their latest mobile game.

It’s taken 25 years, but finally Jupiter Lander is back. This time, mobile gamers can give the game a go as it’s fully converted and revamped to appeal to today’s demanding public.

For those that never played the original, or one of the many lookalikes that spread over countless platforms, Jupiter Lander is all about safely landing your spacecraft on the surface of the planet. The spacecraft is controlled via various boosters that you can use in your fight with the gravitational forces.

To make it more exciting, various levels offer a diversity in landing locations. The harder the location is, the better you will score in the end.

Next to the totally revamped version, players can also activate some sort of legacy modus in which the game looks almost exactly like the original. This means simple sounds and retro 8-bit visuals to guide you over the screen.
