EdgeLib Goes iPhone

October 22nd, 2008 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Development Deals | No Comments »

Elements Interactive has announced to start supporting the iPhone and iPod Touch from within their EdgeLib SDK. The Beta version is already available.

The iPhone version of EdgeLib supports hardware accelerated OpenGL ES, the touchscreen, accelerometer, TCP/IP sockets and file I/O. Most other EdgeLib features are available on the iPhone platform. Developing games and applications utilizing EdgeLib enables developers to write C++ code rather than Objective C. To speed-up development and testing, games powered by EdgeLib can be executed directly on a Windows desktop machine.

The first EdgeLib powered iPhone game "Dougie Moo’s Aqua Antics", developed by Dutch developer Rough Cookie, is available at the AppStore.
