EatWillGrow Uses Twitter as Leaderboard

April 26th, 2009 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Other news | No Comments »

Blank Though most developers refer to Twitter as a way to communicate about games toward the community, Kode80 has actually adopted it as vital part of its EatWillGrow game in the hope to trigger a viral effect.

The game utilizes Twitter by allowing players to tweet their highscores and other play data, accompanied with a screenshot taken just before the game finished. The game also downloads scores from other players from Twitter and will use profile data like the nickname and photo for displaying in the leaderboard of the game itself.

It’s not the first time that we see a social platform being integrated into a mobile game. A few weeks ago, iPlay released a racing game in which consumers can upload a video of their race to YouTube.
