EA Mobile Goes Into Subscriptions

Remember the time of mobile game subscriptions? No? Then you probably
never worked with i-mode content. Now that iMode is leaving Europe, EA
brings subscriptions back to mobile gaming.

With their own subscription service, EA plans aims to hook new consumers to their EA Mobile brand. As the monthly fees open up a huge world of mobile gaming content, EA hopes to attract gamers that normally would not consider purchasing a mobile game. For the price of one mobile game, consumers could download up to vie mobile games a month.

Since EA produces 2-3 mobile games a month, the interviewer is interested in knowing if EA would alter it’s publishing strategy. Javier Ferreira answers that EA doesn’t want to compete to companies like Gameloft based on quantity.
