DS Effects Betting Big on HTML 5

According to PG, Italian developer DS Effects is betting big on HTML5 apps and games for the iOS platform. The Italians have already released over 150 games for HTML5.

The company claims that it is the first to offer a fully loaded mobile games and apps portal on the technology. The fact that the games are written in HTML 5 allows DS Effects to update the games at any time and they remain free from other App Store restrictions. On the other hand, they are also not to be found on the app store, which means that partners will have to work hard to market these games and apps to a consumer base that is used to finding all they need within iTunes.

Meanwhile, DS Effects is also in the process of preparing the portal for launch on the Android platform.
