Dropbox Alters iOS SDK Following Apple’s Complaints

May 2nd, 2012 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Platforms: iOS | No Comments »

Dropbox has announced changes to its SDK for iOS developers. The sudden update follows on the news that Apple disallowed several apps with the Dropbox SDK from entering the App Store.

The problem was that Dropbox allowed consumers to sign up from the SDK. Dropbox removed this functionality and now apps with the Dropbox SDK are allowed again. The problem with signups is that Dropbox allows consumers to purchase extra serverspace from the site with the signup. Apple of course doesn’t like companies that make money around the App Store.
