According to Dutch analytics company Distimo, the Android Market will soon be bigger than the iTunes App Store. Currently, the App Store holds 333.000 apps and Android Market holds 206.000.
Over the past year, the App Store grew 6% while Android Market grew 16%. This means Android Market will be bigger than the App Store in about 5 months time. By that time, both will hold 400.000 to 450.000 apps.
Windows Marketplace is the fastest growing app store. It grew 38% over the past year but that’s not strange considering the smaller numbers of apps.
