Comscore has released it’s latest US smartphone market metrics through their MobileLens report. Android continues to grow in the market while Samsung is now the leading OEM.
In Q4 2010, Samsung owned 24.8% of the US “Mobile Phone” market followed by LG at 20.9% and Motorola at 16.7%. RIM has bumped down to 8.5% and Nokia is stuck at 7% of the market. Apple is not listed in the top 5.
Looking at the US “Smartphone” market however, RIM keeps leading the market at 31.6%. Google owns 28.7%, Apple owns 25%, Microsoft owns 8.4% and HP/Palm owns 3.7%. Google’s share grew with 7.3% and Apple’s share grew 0.7%.
All the other smartphone platforms lost market share. RIM was the biggest loser as it lost 5.7%. Microsoft lost 1.5% which is remarkable since the company introduced Windows Phone 7 in that period.
