China’s Online Mobile Gaming Business Set to Explode

ChinaAccording to a China Venture report, 16 million Chinese will be playing mobile games on their mobile phones by the end of the year. Mobile online gaming is set to increase with 320%.

The operating revenue of the mobile online gaming industry will reach RMB 110 million ($14.63 million), an increase of 343.8% year-on-year. In 2006, only 5 million Chinese where playing mobile games. This is expected to grow to 154 million by 2010. The revenue for the industry would then reach RMB 1.25 billion ($166 million). Research indicated that 24% of the Chinese mobile gamers is willing to spend 12 hours a day playing games and over half of the mobile gamers is willing to pay for mobile games.
