Nokia has unveiled their new C5. Though we normally don’t cover device launches, this is probably the first device that will bring the Symbian OS to the Series 40 demographic.
The Series 40 devices where known for being simple feature phones running a proprietary operating system from Nokia. The C5 however is running on Symbian, has all the hardware a smartphone should have, and still aims the kind of consumer that would normally buy a Series 40 handset. In other words, it is cheap.
Nokia installed Symbian S60 3rd edition FP 2 on the quadband phone and even included GPS for their Ovi Maps software. The phone comes with 50MB onboard memory which can be expanded via an SD slot. The device will retail at
