Apple Closing the Gap with Nintendo in the US

Research from NewZoo shows that Apple is closing the gap between them and Nintendo in the US as Apple has registered over 40 million iOS gamers while Nintendo has 41 million gamers tied to their DS range of consoles.

Samsung Apps Live in 109 Countries

Samsung has announced that its Samsung Apps channel is now live in 109 countries World-wide. The Samsung Wave is of course dominating the downloads in all of those countries.

Gartner: Android to be Leading in Four Years

According to a study from Gartner, Android keeps picking up speed and with the current growth, it is likely to outnumber Apple’s iOS based devices in North America by the end of the current year.

Nielsen: 27 Apps on Every US Smartphone

Nielsen has revealed that the average US smartphone has 27 apps installed. This average is mainly pushed up by Android and iOS where consumers have easy access to free apps and games.

Apple Breaches Through 20K iPad Apps

Apple has breached through the 20.000 iPad applications milestone according to PadGadget and AppShopper. Last week alone, 1.500 new iPad apps have been launched.
