17% of Girls Play Before Going to Bed According to NTT DoCoMo

NTT Docomo has presented a small research amongst 900 of their mobile
gaming service consumers in regards to when they play. Half of this
group was below 16 years of age and the group was equally divided in
girls and boys.

NPD Group: Licensing and Original IP

The NPD Group launched a bulletin about the effect of licensed mobile
games within the market. They kicked off with some generic data like
20% of our target consumer base played games on their mobile and 3% of
them downloaded a game in the first half of the year while 4% bought
one by the end of 2006.

Brew worth $ 1 Billion

Qualcomm, the company behind the Brew programming language, has
announced that publishers and developers of mobile games and applications have earned in total more then
$ 1 billion since the first commercial mobile application was sold back in
November 2001.

US Q4 06 Mobile Game Downloads Worth $ 151 Million

Research company Telephia released details about mobile game downloads in the US for the fourth quarter of 2006. The research shows that the value of downloads has increased to $ 151 million which is an increase of 61% in comparison with the fourth quarter 2005.

4.5 Million Games a Month in Korea

Ovum reports a steady number of 4.5 million mobile games downloads take place every month in Korea. The mobile game downloads have a value of $ 200 million a month in both the costs for the game, as well as the traffic charges. Traffic accounts for 39.7% of the revenue, which shows either how expensive data charges are, or more probable, the popularity of connected gaming in Korea. If this figure is compared with the number of consumers in the networks, it shows 12% of the consumers buys a game every month.
