Microsoft and Intel Plan 32 Tablets for 2012

By the end of this year, Microsoft and Intel have planned to have 32 Windows 8 based tablets in the market. The tablets come from HP, Dell, Lenovo, Acer, Asus and Toshiba.

Consumers seem stuck on Microsoft’s upgrade policy for Windows Phone devices. Developer evangelist Nuno Silva noted in an interview that Windows 8 will become available on first- and second generation Windows Phone devices.

Samsung Will launch a Windows 8 Phone in 2012

Samsung has announced it will be delivering the first smartphone based on Windows 8 by the end of the year. The Thai branch of Samsung brought the news to a local website called ePrice.

Testing Windows 8 Touch Apps on the iPad

Of course, there are sub-€300 touchscreen monitors in the market, but most of them have a huge problem when it comes to supporting Windows 8. They are mostly based in IR detection which is limited to two fingers while Windows 8 certified monitors need to support five fingers. While those are more expensive, there’s a solution on the iPad.

Nokia has started selling their first smartphone based on Windows Phone with support for NFC. It is the all new, budget friendly Nokia Lumia 610. Nokia has released many NFC phones over the past couple of years, but Windows Phone didn’t allow it till now.

Nokia Launches the First CDMA Lumia in China

Nokia has announced the launch of their new Lumia 800C in China. Needless to say, the 800C is the Chinese version of the Lumia 800 we all know since late last year. It is the first CDMA phone in the Chinese market running Windows Phone as well.
