Palm Closed App Catalog to Imported Pre’s

Palm-one Palm has decided to disallow imported Pre’s access to the App Catalog. This software block comes with the 1.3.1 OS update that has been dispatched by Palm toward all Pre owners.

Palm-one Coming December, we will see a very interesting update on Palm's WebOS. The company will be allowing apps to be installed from third party channels and will drop the $99 fee for open source apps.

Palm's long awaited Pre is set to be introduced in Europe. Both in the UK (16-10) as well as in Germany (13-10), the device will be sold by operator O2, but it will be available in more countries.

Yesterday we visited the Dutch Tele-Visie event. Besides the free food and drinks, the event is known for leaking information on upcoming devices. As so, we hoped to get a bit more information about developing mobile games for the Palm Pre.

Apple seems to finally get competition according to an article on The Wallstreet Journal. Several developers are starting to sell their disallowed mobile games and applications via channels that aim consumers that jailbreaked their iPhones.

Today we received an e-mail about Mobclix, a new company (that is, we never heard of them before) with interesting statistics. We went to their site and where amazed by the interesting demographics that we found.

Palm has announced that their PalmOS has reached the End Of Life status. The OS which has been a Palm trademark for many years will be traded in for the brand new WebOS.

Nova, Palm’s New OS

2008 seems the be the year of the OS. We've seen Symbian change hands, Symbian UIQ die, Android launch and hey, in the last second, good old Palm announces a new OS (which probably means they will ditch their old one).
