Opera Launches Opera Mobile Store

Opera has launched it’s own browser based app store called Opera Mobile Store. The app store is active in over 200 countries and supports platforms like Android, BlackBerry, Palm and Symbian.

Handcase Delivers PalmOS Games to PC

Handcase has released a PalmOS emulator specific for playing PalmOS games on the PC. By releasing the emulator, the company hopes to continue sales of its own and other’s PalmOS software.

HTC Will not Acquire Palm

According to Reuters, a source within HTC has confirmed that the Korean cellphone vendor will not be acquiring Palm. HTC decided so after checking Palm’s financials.

More bad news for Palm today as Michael Abbott, their SVP of Software and Services has decided to leave the company. Michael was one of the nine members of Palm’s management team.

RadioShack Ditches Palm

Falcone Buys Palm Shares

Hedge fund manager Philip Falcone has purchased a large number of shares of Palm. In total, his company (Harbinger Capital) now owns nearly 9.5% of the troubled hardware vendor.

T-Mobile Launches SoftwareLoad in the UK

T-Mobile has announced the launch of Softwareload.co.uk. The UK is the second market for T-Mobile to launch the mobile offering as it first needed to prove itself in the German market.

Palm Adds Video Previews to App Catalog

Shortly after the release of their new SDK, Palm announced a nice upgrade to their App Catalog. While submitting or updating a new application or game, developers can now include a YouTube Video.
