AMD Won’t Build ARM CPU’s

There have been some rumours going around that AMD would have acquired a licence to build ARM based CPU’s.  The vendor has now announced it has no plans for ARM chips at all.

Barnes & Noble Launches Nook App Store

Barnes & Noble are rolling out Android 2.2 to Nook Color owners. As a benefit to the upgrade, Barnes & Noble also added their own app store to the update.

Sony Set to Launch Playstation Tablets

Sony has announced their first two Android 3.0 tablets. Both of them will support Playstation Suite and Qriocity. Nothing strange so far apart for the fact that the S2 has a very interesting formfactor.

Intel to Port Android to x86

Intel has announced it’s plans to port Android 3.0 to their x86 architecture. This will allow hardware vendors to build tablets and other hardware using Google’s open source operating system on Intel chips.

Sony Ericsson Launches Bootloader Unlocker

Vendors get Their Own Android Market

Google has extended Android Market with the possibility for hardware vendors (and potentially operators) to launch their own sections on Android Market. Google follows Bada and WP7 in this move.

Kiip Turns Achievements into Rewards
