HTC Doubles Smartphone Sales year-on-year

HTC has announced that between July 2009 and July 2010, the vendor sold twice as much smartphones. In 2009, July was worth €225 million which rose to €575 million in 2010.

Gearbox Gives Android some Balls to Play With

Gearbox has announced their roboballs which are remotely controlled by an Android (and later iOS) based phone. The balls come with a little suite of games and an API for other developers.

Google Fights Piracy with Android Licensing Service

To fight Piracy on the Android Market, Google has introduced a new licensing service. Developers can use the licensing service to let their apps check if the phone they run on belongs to a registered buyer of the app.
