Exit Games Received $ 4.6 Million Funding

Bertelsmann Digital Media Investments led the latest funding round for
German multiplayer company Exit Games. In this latest round of funding,
Exit Games received $ 4.6 million from their investors which also
include Neuhaus Partners and SMAC partners.

Glu Co-Founder Starts D2C Games

Scott Orr, co-founder of Sorrent (now Glu) has announced the line-up of his new game development studio last week called D2C Games. The focus of his products will be on social gaming and episodic content for PC, Consoles and mobile phones.

Lemonquest announced the acquisition of Chinese mobile games company i4Game. The acquisition allows Lemonquest access to new territories and expands its catalogue of mobile games faster. I4Game’s studio is wel advanced in mobile 3D games.

The Twistbox Acquisition of InfoSpace Games U.S. Financial Details

We reported before (and where the first) about the Twistbox acquisition of InfoSpace Games U.S. (also known as Atlas Studio). In our Q&A with Michael Steuer, VP of games for Twistbox, we didn’t get access to the financial information surrounding the deal. In the latest SEC filing from InfoSpace which we got tipped on, all information is available though. InfoSpace has bought the Atlas Studio for $ 6.3 million in July 2004. Now, barely three years later, InfoSpace sold the studio for $ 1.5 million. Of course, this is nothing in contrast to the Elkware studio that was bought at $ 26.4 million and closed in 2006.

iQ212 Launched, Focus on Casual

This year at 3GSM there is a fresh mobile gaming company launching into this highly competitive market space. The company is called IbxGames and seems to fucuss on connected games mostly. The first games they will launch are Armored Forces, OGame Mobile and Wrooam.

EA’s Ubisoft Dilemma

The guys over at Gamasutra have published an excellent editorial about what might or might not happen between EA and Ubisoft and the impact it might also have on EA Mobile and Gameloft in such a case. The editorial is closed with some financial data about Vivendi, but lacking any real info about Vivendi Mobile’s achievements.
