Overloaded to unleash the Funky Cops series

Overloaded is currently preparing for their biggest anticipated launch as the Funky Cops series of games is finally ready. The Funky Cops are known from their cartoon series broadcasted across Europe where they gained a lot of popularity amongst kids. The final titles are;

Yesterday, Glu and Celador celebrated the fourth release in the ‘who wants to be a millionaire’ series. This time the consumers get faced with improvements that allow the users to compare their scores with players all over the globe. Next to that, the Glu guys inserted the ‘fastest finger first’ round in which your score depends on the time you spend to answer the questions. Who wants to be a millionaire is without doubt one of the most popular games from Glu around, topping the ELSPA charts and selling a million times in the first eight months.

Games Go Mobile 2006: EA’s lineup

During the Games Go Mobile Conference, Mitch Lasky (Senior VP EA), announced their new lineup of games including Medal Of Honor, Battlefield and Spore. EA want’s to get more grip on the mobile market with their goal to rapidly become the market leader in mobile. The best way to do this would be by using their own IP to the fullest. In the same line, Mitch Lasky mentioned possible new released for the Need For Speed and Socom ranges. Socom isn’t an EA title, but the purchase of Jamdat did make this IP available (just like Tetris). Next to this, EA will remain publishing original mobile games as well to keep the creativity flowing trough the market.

Games Go Mobile 2006: THQ to distribute Disney’s Pixar and HBO games

THQ Mobile’s president Doug Clemmer announced their plans for the near future. THQ will focus more on casual mobile games and getting in big licenses from World Wrestling Entertainment Inc, Disney/Pixar and HBO amongst others.

THQ also gained the worldwide rights to develop and distribute games from Disney’s Pixar movies. Adam Comiskey (THQ’s GM) commented these licensed games have always proved major successes with operators worldwide.

In-Fusio: Halo Goes Mobile

The Master Chief places a call to mobile gaming. IN-FUSIO answers.

One of the biggest video game franchises in the world is headed to the mobile game space: Halo. Microsoft Games Studio has tapped mobile maker IN-FUSIO to create a suite of applications (games, ringtones, etc.) based on the hit Xbox game, starring the Master Chief. Halo 2 cemented the franchise’s place as a phenom, with first-day sales totaling $125 million. A movie based on the game is due in 2007. Read on …

Gameloft to make “The O.C.” game(s)

Sona Mobile and Viacom Consumer Products are set to offer a Star Trek communicator-themed mobile device that will let users make calls, play video clips, play online Star Trek games and surf the internet.

The cool gadgetry on the classic TV series has made dreamers drool since the first time Captain Kirk barked the words "Beam me up, Scotty!" into his little black box and snapped it shut. AEGF Mobile Games To Partner With NBC Sports

AEGF Mobile Games, a partnership between Abandon Entertainment and GF Capital Management & Advisors, and NBC Sports, announced a partnership on an exclusive worldwide mobile gaming license to create NBC Sports branded games. Under the deal, AEGF will use NBC Sports content to create unique and challenging wireless video games available on mobile phones, many of which will be directly interactive with NBC Sports broadcasts.
