Hindy mobile games to overtake music

The Financial Express (this does give pop-ups) has put up an article about the Hindi mobile games industry. It explains how mobile games are massively catching up to the ringtone market with a current ratio of 5 games on every 7 ringtones. The main reason for this is the licensing on Bollywood titles, which attract enough attention on the local markets to make it worth while.

MIA to deal around FHM content

Mia, known for their saucy mobile content, has inked down a deal to start selling FHM branded content over 30 countries. This deal expands on a content deal in the UK and a technical relationship with FHM in Australia. To support the quality of service, MIA will train FHM staff in the countries how to handle mobile content the best way.
Namco get’s Mr. Do!

Aruze and Namco announced a cooperation to bring Mr. Do1 and Mr. Do’s Castle to North America. Namco is announced to do all localization for the titles. Namco expect to have the titles hitting the market around the summer of 2007. If the deal is successful, it’s expected that Aruze will also bring other Universal arcade titles to Namco.
Sega Europe to go direct

Sega Europe announced it will bring most of it’s new titles directly to market. They did the announcement in Mobile Entertainment Magazine where Sega UK MD Alan Pritchard it’s new titles. The business with Glu will not come to a direct halt though as Glu has received a license for three more Sega titles. Also the announcement said Sonic sales have reached a staggering 700,000 units to date. First titles to launch will be Medieval, Total War and Football Manager Quiz.
Game Federation acquired Daydream game assets

Its industry rumor time again at the mobile games blog as close sources just confirmed the acquisition of all gaming assets of the developer formally known as Daydream. The new owner of these assets is Game Federation. Game Federation is known for its connected gameplay facilities and with games like Netbaby Grand Prix and Botfighters, it looks like they made a strategic purchase. The deal meant also the transfer of the Happy Tree Friends license to Game Federation according to our sources.
Mobile Alliance and Realore Studios team up

Mobile Alliance signed a deal with Realore Studios to create and co-publish titles based on the Realore branded games. With this deal, Mobile Alliance will bring licenses like Aqua Bubble, Age Of Japan, Turtle Odyssey, Aquatic Of Sherwood, Bubble Ice Age and Abandoned Well to the mobile phone.
I-Play signs a fishy deal

Following up on the distribution deal between Fishlabs and Arvato signed Oktober 13th 2005, this time Fishlabs announced to distribute their titles trough I-Play. They kick off with five titles; Galaxy on fire, Planet Riders, Burning Tires, Tank Raid and Heli Strike.
"Fishlabs is well known for creating top-notch 3D mobile games," said David Gosen, CEO of I-play. "Adding their superb 3D games to our existing portfolio makes perfect sense, as the demand for high-end 3D games is steadily increasing. We’re excited about the partnership and impressed by their gaming properties which fit with our own philosophy of ‘one-thumb’ gaming."
Fishlabs CEO Michael Schade added: "Creating compelling high-end 3D games for a broad range of mobile phones involves heavy investments. So you need to find a strong partner not only with many direct channels but also with highly committed local sales teams in every key territory to launch the titles on as many operator decks as possible. That’s why we have signed the publishing deal with I-play."
Back at the 2005 GCDC in Leipzich, Fishlabs COO Christian Lohr showed me their first mobile games, which already stunned me. It’s great to see them become available more widely then ever before. Also the ingame connectivity options with the Exit Games Neutron service, will promote connected gameplay all over the globe.
Breakpoint inked exclusive deal with Capcom

Breakpoint has announced that it will exclusively launch the newest Capcom titles in several countries like Poland, Russio, Hungary, Chech Republic, Slovakia, France, Romania, Bulgaria and the Balkan countries.
"We are proud to cooperate with Capcom, a legendary player in the games industry," said Pawl Nowak, CEO of Breakpoint. "Breakpoint is quickly developing and we are planning similar agreements in the immediate future," he added.
Yosuke Yoneda, Mobile and New Business Development Director of Capcom, remarked: “Combining the power of Breakpoint and Capcom brands in this collaboration is going to bring benefits for consumers as well as both partners. We look forward to working together.”
