Amazon to Become an MVNO in Japan!?

According to rumours, Amazon is planning to launch as an MVNO in the land of the rising sun, Japan. If rumours are right, it will start offering flat-fee 500MB pre-paid SIMcards to Japanese consumers.

Nielsen: Consumers Download More Apps than Ever!

A new report from Nielsen shows consumers are downloading more apps than ever before. Currently, the average U.S. consumer has 41 apps installed. That’s 28% up from 32 apps a year before.

Google Play Well Past 15 Billion Downloads

Google announced that Google Play 9the former Android Market) has passed 15 billion downloads, a few weeks ago. Google Play passed the 11 billion download mark in January.

Motorola Sales Plunge, Again

In the past quarter, Motorola Mobility has sold 8.9 million mobile devices. The sales took another dive. In the same quarter of 2011, Motorola Mobility sold 9.2 million devices. Though sales are down again, Motorola did record an increase in smartphone sales.

Juniper: Samsung Topping the Smartphone Charts

According to research from Juniper, Samsung is topping the smartphone sales charts again in the first quarter of 2012, but only when looking at unit sales. Revenuewise, Apple is still dominating the smartphone market.

Microsoft to Charge for Bing API Usage
