A big day for fans of the BlackBerry platform as RIM has informed the public about the new name of it's App Store initiative will be BlackBerry App World. At the same time, RIM also revealed some more details about it.
We already informed you about the kickbacks that developers will be receiving after each purchase (80%), but the choice of billing by BlackBerry is a bit strange. Instead of arranging global billing for consumers, the only option is to pay via PayPal. Of course, the reach of PayPal is huge, and most major creditcards are supported, but will consumers accept it?
RIM also revealed it's pricing guidelines. The cheapest apps will be priced at $ 2.99. A big step up from Apple's $ 0.99 price point. Then again, consumers can't really go to the competitor Apple…
