A few days ago, EA Casual Entertainment has announced the recent hire of Barry Cottle as new Senior Vice President and General Manager of EA Mobile, reporting directly to EA Casual President Kathy Vrabeck.
Though Barry Cottle doesn’t have a rich history in mobile games, he did serve as CEO of Quickoffice, a set of office based tools for mobile phones. With the roughness of the mobile application market, EA Mobile is a great next step. Next to Quickoffice, Barry was also responsible for Palm.net, where he managed the content and services from Palm.
Vrabeck commented, "Barry has an impressive track record spanning across the entertainment, cable TV, high tech, wireless, mobile content and business software sectors. He brings a deep understanding
of consumer content services that will help EA Mobile grow the market through unique product offerings and expanded buying models. Barry’s passion for the mobile segment makes him a great fit for leading EA Mobile to its next level of growth."
