Atari Jumps Into iPhone

September 29th, 2008 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Platforms: iOS | 2 Comments »

Last week, Atari has set its first steps in the mobile games market with the release of two mobile games for Apple’s iPhone and iPod Touch devices.

The company launched updated versions of Missile Command and Super Breakout. Reason for these releases is the fact that the App Store offers a great way to distribute mobile games toward consumers.

This being said, there is no word if Atari will also start developing mobile games for platforms like Android which are expected to get a similar platform to sell games.

I-Phone gaming continues to be one of the most active sections in the App Store. There are over a thousand gaming titles for the i Phone now available. Here are a few recent favorites from Touch Arcade.
