Arnold Kim from AppShopper.com has put a graph on his Twitter outlining the number of daily releases between November 15th and January 14th. The 18th of December saw 4.491releases.
The graph shows a steep incline from November 15th when the App Store had only 232 launches. On average, there were about 2.100 releases a day during the period.
