Today, Apple’s App Store turns 10. To celebrate the event, Apple is inviting all users to participate in Appsgiving Day which promotes the gifting options Apple introduced some time ago.
Appsgiving Day is probably one of the most clever app promotions we have seen on the App Store. The name links in directly with the Thanksgiving holidays and everybody who is participating is expected to give their friends a paid app to avoid looking ‘cheap’. Needless to say, Apple doesn’t offer discounts or anything like that.
