Last night, it became clear that Apple’s new AppleTV is running on iOS. This news leaked as Apple put iOS 4.1 on their servers for the ‘AppleTV2,1’ device.
This news spread quickly as jailbreakers started to play around with the OS. As it turns out, the iOS version for AppleTV has the same vulnerabilities as that for the iPhone/iPod Touch. In other words, the first jailbreaks are ready before the device lands at the consumer. We expect Apple to announce a new App Store on their next event.
