Apple has filed a patent to identify users based on their heartbeat. Through heartbeat identification, an iPhone should be aware of the person using it.
With this technology, data could be further secured and Apple would be able to better identify it’s consumers and probably content sharing. It is however questionable if a heartbeat is stable enough to be an identifier as heart damage (i.e. resulting from a stroke) might cause a person to have a different pattern.
For developers, a sensor like this might however provide very interesting information detailing the impact of their gaming experience on the consumer to balance a difficulty level.
