Apple Moves into Stereotypes

November 11th, 2009 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Analysis & Editorial, Platforms: iOS | No Comments »

Apple When we opened up iTunes this morning, we noticed a new promotional page aiming specifically at Girls called “App Store Essentials: Apps for Girls”. With this theme, Apple is clearly supporting a stereotype view on the market.

Apple made a selection of ten apps/games for this specific demographic consisting of Disney.com, Hello Kitty Parachute Paradise, Roiworld Fashion Fix, Mash, Math Flash Cards, Kitty Chorus, Dress Your Princess, iPuppy World, Disney Channel Cover Styler and finally Fairy Trails.

With this stereotype outing in mind, we can’t wait for “App Store Essentials: Apps for Boys”. Our suggestions; SI Swimsuit 2009, Girls gone Wild, American Beauty, FHM and whatever other app out there is that shows good looking models.
