Apple Files New Input Patent

February 26th, 2010 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Platforms: iOS | No Comments »

Apple Apple has thought up yet another way to control the iPhone. This time, the company filed a patent that describes finger based input via the onboard photo/video camera.

When in use, the system would recognize the way the finger sweeps over the camera lens (probably leaving finger grease for your next shot). That way, a user could sweep through voicemails, music or other software. It could also bring an extra action button for games that doesn’t require the finger to be in the way of the action.

The patent ID is 20100048241 and it was registered in Q3 2008.
