Google has released the Android App Inventor. The App Inventor is a bit like Nokia’s Ovi App Generator, though not limited to only publishing RSS based applications.
The App Inventor is a WYSIWYG editor that allows consumers to build simple apps and games for their Android phones. Even interaction with social networks is pre-programmed so consumer apps can communicate with networks like Facebook and Twitter. App Inventor apps can also tap into the functions of the phone by sending texts as well as acquiring location data.
The release of Android App Inventor is meant to push both the platform as well as increase the size of the Android Market. A risk however is massive numbers of shitty apps as well as developers getting competition from hobbyists.
