It seems the AppCon and AppJam events in Dundee are being beefed up even more as the organizers are adding the AppXtra sessions to the already crowded planning.
The Xtra’s will be exploring the issues facing new developers and start-up companies in the creative industries and are being held at the end of the daily programs.
Session 1 – Creative Industry Start-Ups – Monday 8th Nov, 7pm
Scott Downie of Hungry Boy & Hungry Boy Productions will lead the session giving open and frank advice about starting up your own business in today’s tough climate and look at cost effective to cut the risk of your new foray into the creative industries.
Session 2 – Design & Illustration – Monday 8th November, 8pm
Lyall Bruce of Sooper Double D will lead a session based around the design and illustration aspects of creative development.
Session 3 – Small Development Programming – Tuesday 9th November, 7pm
This session will explore implementing successful programming project management for smaller scale, rapid turnaround projects.
Session 4 – Sliced Bread – Tuesday 9th of November, 8pm
Hosted by Sliced Bread, the creative informal think tank, this session is open for topics – where the crowd can bring any subject to the table and quiz the creative industry professionals and find out what tricks and techniques they use to get ahead!
Andy Mackenzie, Project Manager: Centre for Creative & Digital Industries for Dundee College, organisers of the AppConference and AppJam, said, “AppXtra builds on the incredibly strong speakers, panels and discussions to incorporate sessions aimed specifically at new start-ups and young high growth companies, providing insight and practical information from organisations which have been through the process themselves.”
