Ansca, a company led by ex-Adobe vets, has launched Corona. Corona is a flash alternative that allows developers to develop mobile games and apps with the ease of Actionscript and Javascript.
The corona will make available all popular iPhone SDK's, but will avoid developers from writing native code. Instead, developers can stick to a scripting language similar to that of Actionscript. At the time of writing, 5 Corona based games are already in the app store.
For early adopters, the company is offering Corona for free. One question that does pop up is if Corona is similar to an emulator. In that case, developers might get a nasty surprise when entering their games to the App Store approval team.
