Android Marketplace Reaches 800 Apps & Mobile Games

January 25th, 2009 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Platforms: AndroidOS | No Comments »

Android
Though Apple's App Store is still leading in the number of available mobile games and applications, Google announced that Android's Marketplace is also growing steady. The channel currently holds 800 mobile applications and games.

Comparing Apple and Google is not entirely fair. True, Apple holds 15.000 items, but the iPhone has a much wider installbase. For now, Google is still running it's OS business on one device and a limited amount of markets.

With many manufacturers announcing Android based devices, massive growth is expected along 2009.
