March 17th, 2010 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Platforms: AndroidOS | No Comments »

Android In the past three months, Google has seen Android Market grow from 20.000 apps to 30.000. This means the channels has grown with about 3.333 app or 11% per month.

Free apps and games remain the most popular as consumers still seem to have problems with the idea of creating a Google checkout account for their devices. According to AndroLib, 39% of the apps on Android Market are paid for apps while 61% is free.

According to FADE, 98.9% of all downloads from Android Market where free. The 8 million Android devices in the market today resulted in 289 million downloads which tells us that the Android consumer isn’t as active as an iPhone consumer.
