While the general understanding is that Android 2.4 will be the next smartphone OS and Android 3.0 will focus on Tablet releases, it turns out the Android 3.0 SDK does have smartphone features on board.
Several parts of the 3.0 UI can be scaled down for use on a phone’s screen. Several UI elements can even change to be more suitable for use on a smaller screen (tanks Engadget). The Sdk also holds support for functionality like an Emergency Dialer, but that could fit well on 3G tablets too.
Congratulations
