Following the success of their Kindle devices, Amazon has announced its interest in building other consumer electronics as well including mobile phones according to a post in the New York Times.
Lab 126, the R&D unit of Amazon that is responsible for Kindle is researching alternatives to bring digital content like books, music and movies from Amazon to consumers. The source noted that there has been talks of music players and mobile phones, though we deem it more likely that Amazon comes with an iPad competitor instead.
