Airplay Announces Special Arcade Edition for PSP, Confuses Users

October 6th, 2010 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Platforms: PSP Minis | No Comments »

Airplay has announced Airplay Arcade, a special version of the Airplay SDK that is optimized for Sony’s PSP. When checking out the pricing of the solution, we found something interesting.

Airplay Arcade is a partner product to Airplay SDK. Developers wishing to license Airplay Arcade must hold Airplay SDK Pro Licenses and Pro Support”

This while the Airplay purchase page details that Indie and Pro users can deploy their games on iPhone and all other platforms and we understood from some developers that PSP support was expected to be part of their package. Though the fee is not that high, Airplay will charge $5~$10K per PSP SKU.
